How AMBA Membership Works

AMBA’s membership model is designed to support both organizations and the individual professionals who work within them.

Membership begins at the corporate or brokerage level, with the company itself as the primary member. From there, individual seats are assigned to the licensed mortgage brokers or team members within that organization.

Because seats belong to the Member company, not the individual, they stay with the organization. If an individual moves to a new brokerage, their seat does not transfer unless the new company is already an AMBA Member. This structure ensures consistency, compliance, and a cohesive, company-aligned membership experience for all professionals across Alberta’s mortgage industry. 

Membership terms run annually from January through December. If a company joins throughout the year, or if there is a new hire during the year, the associated costs will be prorated.

Brokerage
Membership Model

Our brokerage-level membership is open to any Alberta mortgage brokerage licensed by the Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA). When a brokerage becomes an AMBA Member, every mortgage broker licensed under that brokerage automatically receives an individual AMBA membership seat.

Membership dues are based on the total number of practicing agents in Alberta registered with the brokerage, as confirmed by RECA.

The annual fee is $350 per licensed broker, and a single invoice for the full amount is issued to the Broker‑of‑Record. 

Industry Partners
Membership Model

Our Industry Partner membership is designed for organizations within the mortgage ecosystem that support, but do not practice, mortgage brokering. This includes lenders, insurers, appraisers, lawyers, technology providers, and other allied professionals. Industry Partner membership is a full-access corporate membership, issued at the company level. It includes up to four individual membership seats, assigned at the company level upon joining the Access corporate membership. 

Annual dues are $1,400 and cover all four seats. Additional seats can be added at any time for $350 per person, in addition to the included four.
