The votes have been counted and the results are in! The Alberta Mortgage Brokers Association is proud to introduce your newest additions to the Board of Directors. These individuals bring a wealth of experience, expertise, and passion for advancing our industry, and we are excited to have them join the team.

Meet your new Board members:

Kristy Maxwell

Kristy Maxwell

With a deep-rooted commitment to excellence, integrity, professionalism, and engagement, Kristy stands ready to contribute to the advancement and success of the industry. Having spent five years immersed in the dynamic landscape of the mortgage industry, including serving a previous one-year term on the board, she has gained invaluable insights into the challenges and opportunities facing professionals in the field. As Chair of the Professional Standards Committee and a past member of the Awards & Recognition Committee, Kristy has actively contributed to shaping the association’s initiatives and policies. She looks forward to future participation within the Governance Committee, leveraging her experience to drive positive change and foster inclusivity within the association.

Kristy’s vision for the association centers around three core pillars: professionalism, inclusivity, and engagement. Professionalism is fundamental to the success and credibility of the industry. As a board member, she will advocate for high ethical standards, transparency, and accountability among members. By promoting a culture of professionalism, trust, and confidence in the mortgage brokering profession can be enhanced, benefiting both consumers and industry stakeholders alike. Inclusivity is essential for creating a diverse and representative association that reflects the breadth of talent and perspectives within the industry. As a board member, she will champion initiatives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring that all members feel valued, respected, and empowered to contribute to collective success. By fostering a culture of inclusivity, the full potential of membership can be harnessed to drive innovation and excellence across the association. Finally, community engagement is crucial for building strong connections and fostering collaboration among brokers, lenders, and other industry stakeholders. As a board member, she will seek to cultivate a culture of engagement, creating initiatives to bring the community together and propel toward shared success.

Kristy is deeply passionate about the mortgage industry and the vital role it plays in the lives of Albertans. She believes that together, a stronger, more vibrant future for the industry can be built—one that empowers brokers, serves consumers, and contributes to the prosperity of the province.


Tracy Regier

Tracy Regier

Tracy Regier Tracy Regier is a passionate, driven and incredibly organized mortgage professional in Alberta. With three years of experience, she brings a fresh outlook on the mortgage industry. She is committed to bringing inspiration to AMBA and advocating for increased financial literacy and inclusion. In 2024, Tracy was named an awardee for the CMP’s Home Trust Woman of Distinction Award, and in the previous two years, she was nominated as an industry Young Achiever. These nominations came from Tracy’s love for giving back to her community and actively prioritizing education.

Tracy is a wife and mother to three children and a local women’s empowerment group director. She strives to be 1% better daily for herself and to provide a positive example for those around her. Her vision for AMBA during her term is to increase AMBA’s visibility in our industry. The best way to accomplish this is to increase engagement by providing value. Anyone who knows Tracy knows that you can almost always find her with a great, big smile on her face.

Tracy intends to make a purposeful commitment. She became an AMBA member to find a connection and a safe space for personal growth. She now recognizes that AMBA is much more, with the potential to impact change in the industry.

As a mortgage professional with almost four years of experience, she will bring a fresh outlook to the Board. Since becoming a mortgage broker in 2020, she has witnessed the immense support AMBA provides to Alberta Mortgage Professionals. 


Sarah Strauss

Sarah Strauss

Sarah Strauss As a mortgage broker, Sarah’s vision for the future of the Alberta Mortgage Brokers Association (AMBA) is centered around fostering innovation, promoting industry standards, and advocating for the interests of brokers in an ever-evolving financial landscape. She believes in the power of collaboration and community within the mortgage industry, seeing AMBA as a pivotal platform for driving positive change.

Sarah is deeply passionate about advancing the profession of mortgage brokering and ensuring that brokers have the resources and support they need to thrive in their careers. As a member of the Board, she aims to leverage her experience and expertise to contribute to the development of policies and initiatives that empower brokers, enhance transparency, and elevate professionalism across the industry.

Ultimately, Sarah’s goal is to be a proactive voice for mortgage brokers within Alberta, advocating for fair practices, regulatory clarity, and opportunities for professional growth. She is committed to working collaboratively with fellow board members and industry stakeholders to shape a future where brokers are respected, supported, and equipped to excel in their vital role of helping individuals achieve their homeownership dreams.


Naomi Wareham

Naomi Wareham

With 24 years of financial services experience, Naomi has gained valuable knowledge through a variety of roles within our industry. Prior to joining the Mortgage Connection Team 2 years ago as the VP of Operations, Naomi was an Underwriting Team Manager at First National, a residential Underwriter at CMHC, Mortgage Specialist at RBC Royal Bank and an Account Executive at Canada Guaranty several years. Throughout her career, Naomi has gained a wealth of industry knowledge and is passionate about helping people in our industry and in service to Canadians through helping them achieve their dream of home ownership.

Throughout her entire career, Naomi has dedicated herself to helping people in various positions within the industry.

Alongside Canadians, she has worked tirelessly to assist them in achieving their dream of homeownership. Quickly realizing her profound love for the industry and the significance of being part of a larger community of caring industry professionals who share the same dreams and goals, she understands the strength found in unity. She firmly believes that together, they form a dynamic force, capable of bringing about significant change and growth.

Recognizing the power of a shared vision and passion for the industry, Naomi knows that collaboration on a larger scale can lead to transformative outcomes. By combining their visions and working together as a cohesive team, industry professionals can bring a wealth of knowledge to everyone, regardless of their position. She believes that AMBA embodies this collaborative spirit, serving as a driving force for growth and improvement within the industry year after year.

It is this belief in the potential of collective effort that fuels her strong desire to be part of the AMBA Board of Directors.  Naomi is confident that her developed skills will greatly benefit the AMBA Board of Directors, allowing her to contribute to the realization of their shared vision through effective collaboration with others.


We look forward to the perspectives, ideas, and energy these new Board Directors will bring to our association. They join a group of esteemed leaders, who ensure effective decision-making, set strategic priorities, and contribute to the sustainability of the association.

Our returning Board members, Russ Mendonca, Faiz Khaku, Terry Synyshyn, Anu Reddy, and Robert M. Schuett, are eager to collaborate with them and carry our 2024-2025 strategic plan forward.
