Governance Committee
Based on the Board’s goals for a governing year, develop and implement an annual work plan for the evaluation and improvement of the Board of Directors’ governance policies and practices. Support the Board and its Directors to govern to the highest standard on behalf of the Members of the association.

Audit, Finance & Risk Committee
The Audit, Finance & Risk Committee will assist the Board of Directors in its oversight of the Association’s financial affairs, financial planning, operational and capital budgeting, debt structure and financing, investment fund portfolio, and any other financial matters involving the Association, as well as overseeing risk management.

Education & Professional Development Committee
The Education & Professional Development Committee supports the CEO by helping review and enhance existing education programs and offering recommendations for future program development based on the annual operational business plan.

Professional Standards Committee
Based on authority granted by the Board of Directors through the Bylaws, the Professional Standards Committee is an investigative and disciplinary body charged with investigating breaches of AMBA’s Code of Conduct and assessing penalties for Members who breach it.

Political Action Committee
The Political Action Committee (PAC) plays a key role in advancing AMBA’s advocacy strategy by cultivating strong, collaborative relationships with provincial decision-makers. Composed of engaged AMBA Members, PAC works to ensure that the priorities of Alberta’s mortgage brokerage industry are clearly communicated and effectively represented to Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs).
