Copyright Policy

AMBA respects the intellectual property rights of others and desires to offer a platform which contains no content that violates those rights.

Membership with AMBA assures consumers that the brokerage they are dealing with has contractually agreed to follow a strict Code of Ethics and fulfil the professional standards set by the provincial association. In this regard, members in good standing with AMBA are encouraged to publish the AMBA logo in connection with their own company logo or marketing materials.

However, AMBA reserves the right to grant, limit or refuse permission for external use of the AMBA logo or any AMBA copyrighted material. External use is defined as the publication of AMBA copyrighted material by any party other than AMBA for the purposes of advertising, marketing or distribution.

Members not in good standing with AMBA or which have allowed their membership to lapse are not permitted to publish the AMBA logo or any AMBA copyrighted material in connection with their brokerage. Unauthorized use of the AMBA logo or any AMBA copyrighted material is a violation of:

  • The AMBA Code of Ethics and Bylaws, section 4.20b, "Any member may use such mark, design, device, symbol or emblem on their stationary or advertising material. Members may not under any circumstances use any such mark, design, device, symbol or emblem on any legal or other forms without written permission being obtained from the Board of Directors."
  • The AMBA Code of Ethics and Bylaws, section 4.20e, "It shall be a breach of these By-laws for any member to alter such material as indicated or to use any discontinued material of the Association."
  • The Canadian Code of Advertising Standards, Code Provisions, section 7, "Testimonials, endorsements or representations of opinion or preference, must reflect the genuine, reasonably current opinion of the individual(s), group or organization making such representations, and must be based upon adequate information about or experience with the product or service being advertised, and must not otherwise be deceptive."

Members in good standing with AMBA who would like to publish the AMBA logo or any AMBA copyrighted material should complete and submit the COPYRIGHT PERMISSION form.
