Kevin Cochran is a Dragon's Den alumnus, professional speaker and literary for youth. Through an online program called Enriched Academy, he has systemized and simplified money management, making a massive difference in people's lives. Since landing a royalty deal with Jim Treliving and Bruce Croxon (both re-signed their contracts in 2016), the company has gone from being a DVD-based financial education system for students to a fintech company with a proven online education platform serving four revenue streams: schools, companies, families and financial advisors, real estate and insurance agents.

By the time Kevin was 20-years-old he found himself $20,000 in credit card debt. Since then Kevin has played a key role in growing two companies to multi-million-dollar revenue status and removed himself completely from debt while creating a large foundation of wealth.

Max Singh    Mortgage Broker, TMG The Mortgage Group (Moderator)
A born and raised Calgarian. At age 19 my mom finally got sick and tired of me sitting on the couch all day long and playing video games. So, I decided to start looking for a job; actually, I decided that I should start looking for a career. I threw a dart into the dark and chose finance. I applied online at each of the big 5 banks. I honestly thought I would have a little to no chance of being hired, and that banking was pretty boring anyway, even if I did, I would be home before 5 p.m. every night.
Shockingly, I was hired and over the last 10 years I worked my way up the ladder until I was finally able to branch off and start my own business as a licensed mortgage broker. I’m a proud to declare, I will likely be a broker for life. It’s the best!
I’m currently an agent on the TMG The Mortgage Group team in Calgary. My vision of the mortgage industry is a bright one. I feel it will continue to grow both in size and importance. Since the new and looming regulatory changes were introduced, mortgages and the industry as a whole have become more newsworthy, and Canadians more than ever, are turning to brokers as their expert professionals in helping them achieve their financing goals. I’m proud and excited to be a part of an industry that helps people achieve homeownership.

The Evolution of Social Media & Your Business

Social Media has transformed the way that information is created and distributed with tremendous opportunities for your business. Cody Battershill will explore best practices for success along with pitfalls to avoid.

Cody Battershill    Calgary Real Estate Agent, REMAX House of Real Estate
Cody Battershill is a top Calgary Realtor who has been called a one-man oil and gas advocate by the National Post. Tired of the misinformation and vitriol directed at Canada’s resource industries, Battershill founded the Canada Action Coalition in 2010. Since that time, the organization has become one of the leading resource advocacy groups in the country, with online and offline reach in the millions and plenty of earned media attention from coast to coast.
Canada Action’s popular “I Am Canadian Energy”, “I love Canadian pipelines” and “I Love Oilsands” brands have been seen on celebrities and public figures from sports stars to politicians including several Premiers and across the entire political spectrum. Canada Action branding and tactics have also been emulated by companies and associations, inspiring other advocacy campaigns.
Cody has an intimate knowledge of the tactics used by well-funded protest groups to derail Canada’s national prosperity. He understands that in order to be effective, industry advocacy groups must cast off traditional reactive public relations strategies in favour of a more nimble and assertive approach. Cody has been incredibly successful in reaching a significant number of Canadians through Canada Action’s original content and simple messaging.
Canada Action has been featured internationally as well as on national TV, radio, newspaper and magazine pages including CBC News, CBC Radio, CTV, Shaw, Global BC, Ottawa Citizen, the National Post, Vancouver Sun, Globe and Mail, Alberta Oil, Oilsands Review and the Calgary Herald. Cody also writes regularly for Alberta Oil, Business in Edmonton, Business in Calgary, the Huffington Post and the BOE Report. Cody also authored the most shared article ever published on the internet about the oilsands (and Leonardo Di Caprio) at the time of publishing in 2014. Cody has given invited testimony to the Natural Resource Committee of Parliament in Ottawa and has been a keynote and featured speaker at many events including the Canadian Bar Association annual conference and events and sessions held by PJVA, CHOA, CAPP, PADA, CSUR, CAPP, SPE, YPE, the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, the Canadian Oilmen’s Executive Association, several schools and post-secondary institutions, the BC mining conference and Pecha Kucha. Cody was also the recipient of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce 2015 Resource Champion Award.

Cody has been ranked among the top 100 Remax realtors in Canada and also started the popular social media trend "Calgaryism" in 2011.
