AMBA offers a variety of opportunities for members become more involved in their industry and maximize the value of their membership. Our committees provide members with the chance to be an integral, active participant in the future of their association and their industry at large.
As part of AMBA's governance model, AMBA has two different types of committees: standing committees which report to the Board, and operational committees, which report to the CEO. Committees have between 5 and 9 members, and may include non-member experts as needed. All committees are formed through an application process in the spring, though we will accept applications throughout the year.
Governance Committee (Standing)
Based on the Boards goals for a governing year, the Governance Committee will develop and implement an annual work plan for the improvement of the Board of Directors’ good governance policies and practices.
Political Action Committee (Standing) - launching in 2023
Based on the Board goals for a governing year, the Political Action Committee will determine priority issues for AMBA to undertake in its lobbying initiatives to the provincial government; present well-researched positions to the Board on current issues affecting the industry and liaise with MPC on political advocacy efforts at the federal level.
Audit, Finance & Risk Committee (Standing)
Based on the Boards goals for a governing year, the Audit, Finance & Risk Committee will assist the board in fulfilling its obligations and oversight responsibilities relating to financial planning, audits, financial reporting, corporate controls and risk management.
Events & Sponsorship Committee (Operational) - Launching in 2023
Based on the Operational Business Plan for a governing year, the Events & Sponsorship Committee will support the AMBA staff in the development and production of the annual events calendar; assist in the development and execution of annual and event-specific sponsorship strategies.
Membership Committee (Operational) - Launching in 2023
Based on the Operational Business Plan for a governing year, the Membership Committee will support the AMBA staff in membership recruitment and renewal efforts; review membership categories and privileges on an annual basis and make recommendations; assist in developing incentives and benefit programs for membership.
Marketing & Communications Committee (Operational) - Launching in 2023
Based on the Operational Business Plan for a governing year, the Marketing & Communications Committee will support the Marketing & Communications Coordinator in the development and execution of communication plans and marketing efforts; promote and boost social media campaigns to target audiences; provide industry-relevant content for newsletters and blogs.
Award & Recognition Committee (Operational)
Based on the Operational Business Plan for a governing year, the Award & Recognition Committee will support the AMBA staff in the review, re-development and launch of the awards and recognition program.
Education & Licensing Committee (Operational)
Based on the Operational Business Plan for a governing year, the Education & Licensing Committee will support the AMBA staff in the maintenance and review of the MAP program; spearhead the development of any new education programs, and provide insight on industry needs regarding additional training and professional development.
