AMBA relies on a committed group of passionate individuals from the mortgage industry who form our Board of Directors. This esteemed group ensures effective decision-making, sets the strategic priorities, and contributes to the sustainability of the association.
For the 2024-2025 Board term, we have four open positions.
Three of these positions are three-year terms. One position is for a one-year term (to complete the term of a Director that has stepped down). The four newly elected Directors will draw straws to determine which Directors will receive the three-year term, and which Director will receive the one-year term. Directors can serve up to two consecutive three-year terms.

Voting
Voting begins on March 11 at 9 a.m. MST and closes on April 10 at 11:59 p.m. MST.
Members will receive an email from our secure, third-party voting platform, which will include your unique voting ID and key.
Once voting has concluded, results will be compiled, and all candidates will be notified of the results. Results will be communicated to all members on April 15.

Electing the Officers of the Board
In a meeting just prior to the Annual General Meeting (AGM), the new Board of Directors will meet to elect the officers of the Board (Chair, Vice-Chair, and Treasurer). The officers will be announced during the swearing-in at the AGM.
Swearing-in Ceremony
The 2024-2025 Board of Directors will be sworn in at the AGM.
Board Dinner
On the evening of the AGM, outgoing Directors and the newly elected Directors will attend a dinner. The dinner is a valuable opportunity for outgoing Directors to share their experiences and offer advice to the new Board, and for new Directors to ask questions of the outgoing Directors.

Director Orientation & Training
AMBA is committed to ensuring that new and returning Directors are provided with the resources and tools needed to set them up for a successful board term. All Directors are required to attend a full-day orientation and training session, facilitated by AMBA’s governance advisors on May 3, in Calgary.
Directors who are travelling from out of town to attend the AGM, dinner and orientation will be reimbursed for travel, meals and accommodations (per AMBA's Director Compensation Policy). For more information, please contact [email protected].
