Our Role in Advocacy

WE ARE THE VOICE OF, AND FOR, MORTGAGE PROFESSIONALS IN ALBERTA
Picture
AMBA advocates on behalf of members on a provincial level, both in government, and with the provincial regulatory, RECA (Real Estate Council of Alberta).  As the voice for our members, we work closely with industry stakeholders to ensure that we have a seat at the table when it comes to regulation and legislation.

We believe that there is strength in numbers - and as our membership continues to grow, so does the power of our collective voices.  As a registered lobbyist, AMBA has the opportunity to represent the best interests of the industry, as determined by the members, and is committed to doing so.  We also work with our national association (MPC) to support their advocacy efforts at a national level, including participating in their annual Hill Days on Parliament Hill.

As part of our ongoing commitment to advocacy, our Board of Directors will be forming the Political Action Committee. Based on the Board of Director's goals for a governing year, this standing committee will determine priority issues for AMBA to undertake in its' lobbying initiatives to the provincial government; present well-researched positions to the Board on current issues affecting the industry, and work closely with our Executive Director on regulatory matters as needed.
