AMBA is the trusted voice of Alberta’s mortgage professionals—advocating for the industry at both the provincial and federal levels.

We represent the interests of our Members in conversations with regulators and government decision-makers, ensuring that mortgage brokers are recognized as essential contributors to Alberta’s real estate and financial sectors. With five decades of experience, AMBA has earned a respected seat at the table, participating in key consultation groups and stakeholder engagements that shape the future of our industry.

At the provincial level, AMBA is a recognized stakeholder of
Service Alberta and the Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA). We maintain strong relationships with the Mortgage Brokerage Industry Council and RECA’s leadership, advocating for policies that support professional standards, consumer protection, and industry growth.

At the federal level, AMBA proudly partners with our national association, Mortgage Professionals Canada (MPC), to support their advocacy efforts on Parliament Hill. Together, we work to ensure that mortgage brokers across Canada have a unified and influential voice in national policy discussions.

AMBA's Mortgage Industry Lobby Day

AMBA is proud to host our Mortgage Industry Lobby Day, a milestone initiative in our ongoing efforts to strengthen our Members’ collective voice and advocate for the mortgage broker profession at the provincial level.

In partnership with Alberta Counsel, our government relations consulting firm, AMBA leadership, Board members, Political Action Committee (PAC) representatives, and industry leaders meet with Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) to discuss key issues impacting our industry. The day concludes with a reception for elected officials, providing an opportunity for meaningful dialogue and relationship-building.

What We're Advocating For at Lobby Day 2025:

• Stronger industry standards in mortgage associate education

• Improved consumer education to support informed real estate financing

At the Alberta Mortgage Brokers Association, we acknowledge that our work in the housing industry is deeply connected to the land we call home. We recognize and pay tribute to the traditional territories of the peoples of Treaties 4, 6, 7, 8 and 10.  We also honour the Métis Nation of Alberta.  As we work to facilitate homeownership in Alberta, we remember that we operate on land that has been home to Indigenous peoples for generations.
