Member volunteers are the heart of our association. AMBA offers several different committees for the efficient operation of the association’s business. As part of our governance framework, we have two types of committees: Standing Committees (reporting to the Board of Directors) and Operational Committees (reporting to the CEO).
Applications for all committees are open until April 21, 2023, with committee terms beginning in May of each year. ALL committee members are required to attend an annual Committee Orientation session in May.
Current Committees Accepting Applications:
Professional Standards Committee Based on authority granted by the Board of Directors, the Professional Standards Committee is an investigative and disciplinary body that has been delegated the work of investigating and assessing penalties or remedies to Members who breach AMBA’s Code of Conduct. We are looking for up to 5 committee members comprised of a minimum of 2 Directors, 2 Non-Director members, and one member of the public. NOTE: Applicants must not have been the subject of any disciplinary actions by RECA in the last 5 years.

Hearing Panel Pool Subcommittee When an investigation requires a hearing to occur, three members of the Hearing Panel Subcommittee will be selected to hear the case. Panel members must meet our absence of conflict of interest threshold before being selected for any case.
We are looking for up to 15 sub-committee members. All applicants must be members in good standing with AMBA. As required, each Hearing Panel will be selected from the Hearing Panel Pool (3 members). Note: Applicants must not have been the subject of any disciplinary actions by RECA in the last 5 years.

Audit, Finance & Risk Committee The purpose of the Audit, Finance & Risk Committee is to provide strategic leadership and advice to the Board regarding its fiduciary responsibilities, compliance, risk management, external reporting, and internal control policies and practices.
We are looking for 2 members-at-large to join this committee. All applicants must be members in good standing with AMBA. Note: Applicants must not have been the subject of any disciplinary actions by RECA in the last 5 years.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Advisory Committee Based on the Board goals for a governing year, the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee (DEI) will act as the main discussion and advisory body for AMBA in relation to issues of equity, diversity, and inclusion. The intent of this work is to help AMBA develop and maintain an environment where we recognize the dignity and uniqueness of the individual, and where we meaningfully leverage equity and diversity in our staff, Board of Directors, membership, and community.
